DIPLOMA IN HOSPITAL ADMINISTRATION (DHA) PROGRAMME The Diploma in Hospital Administration (DHA) programme is offered by the IIHS. The Institute also is in the process of organizing two, full-time, masters’ degree programmes, in health administration and hospital administration. The School also organizes several short-term training programmes in primary health care management and health care management.

It will be of immediate benefit to those currently engaged in hospital administration at senior and middle levels for Doctors, Nurses and Paramedics and Non-medical personnel who are directly or indirectly involved in Hospital services. www.iihsciences.com The International Institute of Health Sciences (IIHS) was established in 2002, as the American College of Health Sciences as the first International Nurses training school in Sri Lanka. The IIHS was supported by Pacific Union College, California, in the curriculum formation and the supplying of educational material and equipments. In the year 2003, an important landmark in the history of the Institute, when its curriculum of Nurses training was recognized by the Ministry of Health as since then, the IIHS has been expanding continuously in terms of educational programmes and infrastructure. While responding to the changing needs of the social and educational system in the country, the Institute has gone far beyond the initial concern of Nursing work education. Thus, it started out as a small institution offering post-graduate diplomas in Hospital Health Management, Health Management, Disaster Management and Health Information Systems. Further, it will also be focusing on the certificate programmes in para-medical programmes such as Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Technology, and Optometry.
Over the years, the Institute has made a significant contribution to society by training over 200 nursing students and 30% of the students are working abroad in Australia, Malaysia and USA. Today, the IIHS has earned recognition as an institution of repute from, various State Governments, international agencies and the non-government sector, both national and international. This is due to positive work ethics and creativity in the Institute, strong linkages among education, research, field action and dissemination, and social commitment and responsiveness to varying social needs. The Faculty of Health Management Studies (FHMS) was established on January 2008.
